Human Rights Policy
Under our vision of “Helping individuals create more valuable time” and our mission of “Building infrastructure for expanding life’s possibilities through work,” the Timee Group aims to realize a society where everyone can choose the work style of their own volition and expand their possibilities.
The Timee Group recognizes that access to working opportunities is a fundamental right deeply connected to human dignity and freedom of choice in life. Therefore, we continuously position ourselves to provide more working opportunities fairly and safely as one of our critical responsibilities in respecting human rights.
This policy outlines our fundamental approach to human rights, and has been approved by the Board of Directors.
1. Basic Stance on Human Rights
The Timee Group recognizes the human rights expressed in the International Bill of Human Rights and the principles and rights set out in the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work as minimum standards for human rights. In line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, we integrate respect for human rights into all business activities and promote it throughout our operations. In cases where we face a contradiction between internationally recognized human rights standards and the laws and regulations of individual countries and regions, we seek ways to honor the principles of internationally recognized human rights to the greatest extent possible. Given the specific nature of spot work, we specifically focus on people from diverse backgrounds, especially vulnerable groups and those who often face challenges in accessing opportunities. We actively create an environment where everyone can work safely, where we respect their performance and experience, and where these experiences lead to future opportunities. We will continuously review and evolve our initiatives to ensure we continue to meet the growing expectations for human rights that accompany changes in the social environment and working styles.
2. Scope of Application
This policy covers all stakeholders involved in the Timee Group's business—including all officers and employees, service users, client companies, suppliers, and contractors—and we apply it across our entire value chain. We respect the human rights of all stakeholders, including officers and employees. In our relationships with service users, acting as a platform that bridges diverse individuals and client companies through spot work, we aim to create an environment that respects human rights at every stage of service use. Furthermore, we continuously educate and raise awareness among our officers and employees. We also require our client companies and business partners to understand and collaborate on this policy. By collaboratively addressing human rights risks, we will lead to the provision of safe and fair services.
3. Target Human Rights Issues
The Timee Group fully recognizes the impacts our business activities have on human rights. To respect the human rights of all stakeholders—including service users, client companies, officers, and employees—we identify the following human rights issues as material matters.
Fundamental Principles of Labor
Prohibition of Forced Labor and Child Labor
We strictly prohibit child labor, slave labor, human trafficking, and all other forms of forced labor. We actively work to prevent and eliminate severe human rights violations, including unjust confinement and the inappropriate employment of minors.
Elimination of Discrimination and Equal Opportunity
We enforce a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination based on gender, nationality, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, social origin, or any other status. We actively develop an environment where diverse individuals can equitably access working opportunities.
Respect for Freedom of Expression, Freedom of Association, and the Right to Collective Bargaining
We respect the rights of officers and employees to freedom of expression, freedom of association, and the right to collective bargaining—including the right to form, join, or choose not to join trade unions. For service users, we ensure they do not suffer unjust disadvantages that violate internationally recognized human and labor rights principles. Furthermore, through formal grievance reporting and escalation procedures and continuous dialogue with stakeholders, we maintain and improve a fair platform environment that everyone can use with peace of mind.
Working Environment and Conditions
Ensuring a Safe, Secure, and Healthy Working Environment
We strive to create a working environment where everyone involved in our business operations, including officers, employees, and service users, can work safely and securely.
Fair Compensation and Appropriate Working Conditions
We guarantee the payment of adequate wages to officers and employees, ensuring we meet or exceed the minimum wage. We ensure equal remuneration without any unjust discrimination. Additionally, we avoid and reduce excessive working hours and guarantee appropriate breaks and paid holidays. For service users, we build and maintain mechanisms that ensure client companies pay adequate wages, and we actively work to realize a safe and appropriate working environment.
Prohibition of Harassment
We explicitly prohibit power harassment, sexual harassment, and all other forms of harassment. We dedicate ourselves to creating an environment that protects the dignity of everyone who uses our services, as well as our officers and employees.
Human Rights Issues Related to Platform Characteristics
Protection of Privacy and Personal Information
We appropriately manage and protect the personal information of service users, client companies, officers, and employees—including names, attributes, work histories, and evaluation data. We ensure transparency in data use and carefully prevent undue influence or disadvantage.
Fairness of Algorithms and Elimination of Bias
We recognize the human rights impacts of digital technologies, including matching algorithms, and evaluation systems. We continuously verify and improve these technologies to prevent any unjust discrimination or bias against specific groups.
Fairness in Evaluation and Respect for Diverse Values
We respect an individual's actual performance, achievements, and diverse experiences. We aim to provide fair, regular performance appraisals that do not rely solely on specific attributes such as educational or occupational background.
Elimination of Illegal and Inappropriate Tasks
Through rigorous job posting screening and monitoring, we actively eliminate illegal or inappropriate tasks, including illegal activities and exploitative labor.
Career Development and Expansion of Possibilities
By providing diverse working opportunities, we contribute to personal growth, career development, and expanded life choices. We aim to realize a society where everyone can freely choose their way of working.
4. Human Rights Due Diligence
The Timee Group implements a company-wide human rights due diligence process to prevent and mitigate negative human rights impacts associated with our business activities. Across our entire value chain—including service users, officers, employees, client companies, suppliers, and contractors—we strive to map and reduce human rights risks. We give special consideration to the impacts on vulnerable groups who are at increased risk of human rights violations or unfair disadvantages due to diverse backgrounds or specific circumstances, including women, youth, and third-party employees. Furthermore, given the specific business model of spot work, we proactively assess negative human rights impacts from the period before service use through to the post-employment phase, and we systematically review and update our initiatives as necessary.
5. Remediation and Relief
To identify human rights concerns and issues, the Timee Group strives to establish an environment with appropriate grievance mechanisms and reporting channels that allow officers, employees, service users, client companies, and other stakeholders to consult and report safely. When we confirm negative impacts or issues regarding human rights, we take appropriate corrective and remediation measures as necessary, and we respond promptly and implement steps to prevent recurrence.
6. Information Disclosure
The Timee Group publicly reports on the progress of our human rights initiatives, ensuring transparency and fulfilling our accountability to all stakeholders. In light of changes in the social environment and our business activities, we continuously enhance our public disclosures and improve transparency.
7. Dialogue with Stakeholders
The Timee Group emphasizes regular engagement and dialogue with stakeholders, including service users and client companies, to actively grasp frontline feedback, issues, and human rights risks. We leverage the insights gained from this dialogue to improve our services and business operations. By connecting these insights to the prevention and mitigation of negative human rights impacts and the provision of safe and fair working opportunities, we commit to continuous improvement.
8. Dissemination and Education of the Human Rights Policy
To integrate this policy throughout our business operations, the Timee Group conducts human rights training and educational programs for all officers and employees. We actively promote understanding and raise awareness to ensure that our operations and decision-making processes appropriately reflect our commitment to respecting human rights every day.
